ReptileMatt Feb 09, 2004 08:33 PM

Just wondering what the adult size of an hog island boa is? Male size/female size?

I think they say that they're only supposed to reach about 5 feet average, and they are one of the smaller boas. But the pair I'm getting in a couple days is over 12 years old and the male is almost 6', the female almost 7'.

Males will typically be in the four to six foot ranges, while females are generally in the five to seven foot ranges. The current hog island boa probably reaches larger adult sizes than the first imports or breedings. They are becoming a larger and more colorful boa as compared to wild hogs. That said despinte larger sizes they are stil very manageable. They are great snakes with generally good temperaments and are fairly easy to work with.
