Update on my guys (If anyone cares)

Paradisio Feb 09, 2004 11:26 PM

I know you guys don't like me much around here but if anyone cares just thought I would update (feel free to throw positive suggestions)

My tiny patternless leo is now officially a pig. He now goes to the bathroom regularly and his tail is definitly fatter than a few days ago.

My medium sized leo still isn't eating, but he is looking better with the help of Golden Gates Geckos liquid food, which he actually seems to like. I now wait a couple days between feeding it to him to try and get him to eat regular food. He did that half eating thing again last night, he simply crushed a mealworm to death and didn't eat it... May have to get some smaller ones for him. He isn't acting/looking unhealty or anything, so I'll assume the best

My big leo had a bowel movement today, so he is looking up... He does eat crickets which I should have more of tomorrow. He had a kinda bad shed today and hopefully he will get the rest off tomorrow... (What are the things I should do If he doesn't get it off in a few days?)

I had an incident with an online feeder shop which caused me to lose about $70 dollars so I don't think I can afford a vet again sadly.

Sounds great! Looks like they are coming along. If you have problems with the shed, just get a plastic shoebox and fill it with warm water. Only fill the water level to the leo's belly. Stick the leo in and give it a bath. You might have to gently hold it there. If there is shed on the back or on top of the head you may have to moisten it with your fingers. If shed on the toes gets complicated use a Q-tip and gently rub the area, if it fails to come off soak longer and try again.

1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)
1/4 cup Ensure (not chocolate)
1/4 cup pedialite
1 jar baby food squash or 1/4 cup plain canned pumpkin
1/2 tsp. each calcium powder and herp vitamins
2 crushed tablets or 2 opened capsules of milk thistle (found at most places that have vitamin and herb supplements - it is a liver purifier) un-needed unless character has prolonged malnutrition

* a handfull of mealworms puree'd with this mixture if you can deal with that!
- Pour slurry in ice cube trays and freeze, thawing out only what you will use in a few days.
