Good Idea?! for the moderators/creators of the Forum...

freezermink Feb 10, 2004 02:51 AM

after reading some of the repeated posts, i had a thought. i use other forums and on one in particular (volkswagen forum), there is a post or two that remains at the top of the list as a sort of FAQ post. in my opinion, it worked extremely well. I thought i'd throw the same idea out here. its a thread in which people can post frequently asked questions and responses, tips, tricks, etc. of course the posts would be selective by the moderator to limit the bashing and false posts, but i think it would be a great thread for beginners on topics such as the ever popular 'multiple snakes in a tank' post, the 'which morph is my corn?' post, and the 'which substrate is best' post. the list goes on and on. instead of repeating posts, i think a static post at the top may be a good idea. of course i understand that you can get the information from other sites if you look around, but i think an FAQ thread would really fit the ideals of this 'for the snake owner, by the snake owner' forum. what do you guys think?

He said that they already do that on some forums. He said if somebody wants to write it, they just have to get in touch with the moderator and it can be done. I have considered doing it myself, since I have some FAQs already done that I have been emailing to those who need it. But I would have to polish them up more, and make more of them, if they were to be posted publicly. If anyone else is up to the challenge right away, contact KS mods to work on it.

I think it would be very helpful. Jeff said that on the other forums (I think the monitor forum is one that has an FAQ) the feature is not always used, but it could be pointed out to the people who don't notice it. Then after reading it, new people could come back and post additional questions that weren't covered in the FAQ.

Could you email me your regurge FAQ? I don't have any regurgers now thank goodness, but the new season is upon us, and who knows what the next batch will do

Also, I was thinking of maybe putting some info about it on my site, but I don't think my experience of one regurger is quite as good as your's when it comes to writing an FAQ about it Anything I put on my site that's a direct copy (like feeding suggestions) will be of course credited to the author/authority

Oh BTW, I like the changes on your site
