Max recorded length

simias Feb 10, 2004 07:12 AM

Many years ago I kept a WC male E.g.emoryi (origin unknown) that was 63", 2 inches longer than the published maximum. I never bothered to write to anyone to report this, which was a shame.

I wonder what the current maximum length is for Egg - certainly longer than the published max of 72" for wild corns given all the captive breeding. Does anyone have a reliable figure ?

I wonder about that too. I have a 6' (11 years old) male.. I bet there are bigger ones out there..

Actually he is a Elaphe guttata reticulatus Yes, he is a sight to behold. In real he even looks larger than in any picture.

That is one monster corn. Is he as gentle as he looks in your pics? He looks like the type that sort of "enjoys" handling?

Oh yeah, question, have you had that male for his whole 11 years?

Yes, he is very tame. But I feed him only once a month since he is very obese. That means he is hungry all the time and will bite when I try to reach him with bare hands. I have to get him out with a hook and he is fine. No, I have not had him for the 11 years. I have had only only for a few years. I do know him since he was small though

Does the hook make him mad?
I thought about getting a small hook in case someone get's nippy with me. Mainly because I still can't help but jerk away and I don't want any broken teeth. But also because I'm a big chicken who prefers not to get bit in the first place
