What is a reasonable price to pay for a kimberly rock monitor or an ackie....ALSO>>>>

Any suggestions for smaller monitors...

I really like the kimberly rocks but I'm wondering about their temperment...

I have a large 5'x3' melamine box...how tall should it be so they can't climb out??? I think it's 18"...

thanks.

Hey there,

Kimberly temperments are great, they are very active and inquisive. Although I do not handle mine regularly, they don't seem to mind being picked up; it just gives them a better chance to check out their surroundings...

As for the cage, the size sounds fine, that is about what I keep my pair in, but as for the top; do not leave it open, use plexiglass or something else as a lid. Alogn with preventing escapees, it will also help keep humidity levels normal. Without a cover, moisture would just evaporate through the opening, and your lizards' surroundings would be bone dry, thus dehydrating them.

Good luck, I'd say go for the kimberlys, I don't think there's any monitor that rivals them, well, maybe pilbaras, but from what I hear they do not have the great personalities that kimberlys do..take care,

bob
