Pics of reticulatus (from below post)

FalconBlade Feb 10, 2004 12:38 PM

Well, after messing with my Frognet gallery, the URL to the pics I posted in the message below was altered thus invalidating the original pics. I have reposted them here as well as another neat shot I captured earlier today. The retics are doing great and have been feeding good on both small melanogaster and springtails. These guys are not near as shy as my vents are, however they are skittish when things go *bump* but are quick to return. Enjoy!

They are at the top, my favorite are Lamasi, but I have yet to find anyone even willing to let me on a waiting list for them. The standard ones that is.

Those are beautiful. Where did you get them from? They are one of my favorites.

By the way, your pics just get better and better, Bill. Nice frogs. I might have to put those on my gotta get in the next decade list, right behind the Brazilian cobalts and intermedius.

Thanks for the wonderful comments!! They truly are beautiful and the camera doesn't come close to what the eyes see. They have always been a favorite of mine from coloration/pattern alone and now their behavior is a whole new culture of flies!! They seem to be a little skittish when they are startled but are pretty quick to return, even with the top open and my face right in the opening. Also they don't climb much at all aside from the common acclimation climbing on the glass. Watching them nose through the leaf litter in search of microfauna is awesome!!

Just wanted to comment again on how nice those frogs look. I had no idea so many people were working with them...still not many and they are hard to find. They are my favorite thumbnail...from appearances only. I cannot speak for personality. Congrats again.

Kyle...that's right. I left that fly in the pic when cropping it, so that it would serve as a size comparison. That one is 1/2" which is about full size for a male. The other retic is just a little smaller and still has it's juvenile black marking in the orange...which will fade out in a month or so.
