I was wondering if it is legal to own a Eastern hognose snake in NY with out a venomous permit, I thought it was but some of the stuff I read on the internet seems like it might not be, and Iv'e always wanted Eastern hogs. Thank you

Hognose snakes are not considered venomous by the DEC's standards. Only snakes that are legitimately venomous (ie. a snake that can produce a medically significant bite) require a license.
