My Jackson's ignores his reflection. Is this normal? I was sure he would flare up and get hostile.

I wonder if Chameleons can live in a state of contstant submission. I wonder if he sees me as a dominant animal, and is always subordinate because of it.
Maybe this is causing him to be generally submissive all the time.
He use to do the little head shake sometimes (a sign of claiming territory), but I never really see that anymore.

I have my cage on the floor. Would raising it up so that the higher part of the cage was above my head help? Would it give him more confidence, maybe make him more territorial? He is not stressed, very healthy, paces a little but never in a frantic way, and seems generally happy. I was just wondering why he's not more defensive of his territory, especially to his reflection.

do you bring him to the mirror and see if he flares? if you do you eventually take him a away from the area and he thinks he lost that is why you need to bring the mirrir to submissive males to boost comfidence

Absolutely get his cage as high up as possible. Thisd goes for every arboreal cham. They just feel safer that way. Keeping him on the floor just causes chronic stress.
