t rex preperation problems and a sex question

lollipopgestapo Feb 10, 2004 05:51 PM

i recently bought the t rex meal replacement powder to try it out to give my lizard some variety. it seems to really love meal worms and crickets but doesnt really like to eat mashed up fruit or baby food. do you think that if i put out fruit for a few days in a row or something that it would get hungry eventually and eat it just because it has to eat?

anyway. back to the t rex. i tried making it a few times and i was very unsuccessful. how do you make it? do you have any tips? it just was very watery and never really thickened and it just seemed very gritty and gross. do cresteds like this? is it readily consumed for the most part?

last question...
i got my crested on xmas eve and it has grown soooo much since then. i cant really say how old it is but when i got it it was still small so im assuming it is somewhere around 4 to 5 mnths old. and i dont see a bulge at the base of the tail, is it safe to say that it is female? at what age can you really strt determining sex? at what size? if size is applicable.

You should mix about 1 part powder to 2 parts water. If it is to thin, you add a little more powder, if it is to thick, you add more water. My Rhacs eat it no problem. As for you qustion about eating the babyfood...yes, your chances are better if you let them go a few days without live food. You should only do this with a gecko that is not ill and has good wieght to begin with.
