I would say that as long as you had a really big inside enclosure (something like 8x8 minimum or a room) for the winter a leopard would be fine. A baby could do with a lot smaller accomodations for at least two or three years... I would say something like 4x2 or 4x4 (which would still be huge for a hatchling).
