I would advise "handling" leachianus often. There are many times when you need to access the enclosure or to inspect (or repair) the leachies themselves. By handling, I mean allowing them to become comfortable on your hand. I have never had to restrain a leachie that I have raised due to their comfort factor. I have picked up friend's "she WILL bite you" leachie without being bitten by keeping my movements slow and enabling her to become comfortable. Leachies can deliver a decent bite. If you look at their teeth under magnification, they are serrated and backward curving (like an Allosaur). My most painful bite (Rhacodactylus bite) was from an Auriculatus...I was feeding it a piece of banana and looked away. They have very long fangs and if you have ever been jabbed by a metal sliver....thats what it felt like. Leachies (except while in breeding mode) are what I would call a very mellow gecko. Pick them up...just dont restrain them.
