growth charts for the first part of their lives.
Teddy (blue) and Jack (green - belongs to tortusjack in England)

Teddy gained an average of 2 grams per day for a long time.
Eventually as he got bigger, his growth increased proportionately.

After they get 2 years old they tend to go on a spurt, some take
longer to get started. Each one is different and it will depend
on genetics, sex (m/f), food, lighting, heat and exercise available.

After looking at this chart I realize that there is a 'normal' for growth rate. I always say 'it depends'... but there is a 'normal'. If you muddle through all these studies that are presented on pond turtles, desert tortoises... you will invariably find growth charts. Well, in the wild, a normal growth curve is like the green curve in the chart presented here. With that, I guess you can call that 'normal'.

after 2 years old he really took off, that's also the summer
we bought and moved in to our new house, giving him a permanent
outdoor pen to stay in during the daytime.
