Panther differences

SouthernBel Feb 11, 2004 08:16 AM

I am really drawn to all of the different types of Panther Chameleons, but there doesn't seem to be as much information about keeping and breeding them as there is about Veileds and Jacksons. I noticed that a few of you on this forum have Panthers as well as other types and I was wondering if you could tell me why Panthers aren't more popular? Are they particularly mean, are they difficult to breed, do they have short life spans? What's the deal? Thanks!

I think they are not as popular because of how much more they cost. Generally, panthers cost 4-5 times as much as veilds. I've kept both, and I'd say the veilds are much meaner. In regards to care, they are both hardy.

Panthers are real popular, they have amazing colors, but like the other guy said, they are around $200-$300 dollars each compaired to $20-40 dollars for a veiled. They are much easier to breed than a veiled in my opinion. (my female hated my male veiled for months, my panthers...love at first site) I also think veileds are generally meaner than panthers.
