dry food for beardies

hey guys and girls, i was wondering is it possible to raise beardies on just bearded dragon pellets and greens, and give them the occasional cricket for protein, i was wondering if this was possible and also healthy for a beardie, thanks for the reply guys

Yes, actually more and more people are doing that these days. If the beardie is a baby or a juvi I personally wouldn't take the live food away so fast, but I know people who have done this with success. The only differance was the one that was fed only pellets grew slower then the dragon fed both live and greens. Eventually they both got to about the same size as adults.

i agree with MattMan, if it is a young dragon, they need more protein, and if it is an adult, pellets and greens with the occasional bug would be sufficient! The reason is young dragons need all the protein to grow big and strong, while the older ones dont need all that energy. If you can get your dragon to eat pellets and greens with no problem, and it is an adult, that would be great!
