This is one of my 6 sugar gliders, Pinky. She is almost 4 months OOP (Out Of Pouch) now, and really is a sweetheart. She loves her mommy
Anyway, this is her gliding..I was lucky enough to catch her in a good mood, and have her glide to me numerous times to get these shots.
Enjoy!

Here she is taking off!

She's a fiesty little thing. She doesn't bite me but she bites everyone else. (Which is actually kind of amusing in a twisted way. LOL!) I can handle her but she doesn't really tollerate being picked up. She didn't mind as a baby and then one day, she flipped.

Anyway, back to Sugars...I have an online friend who said she'd send me a free baby once hers reproduce but we can't think of any way to get around the law on this one.

thegeckobarn Feb 12, 2004 03:29 PM

I dont think there is any way to get around it, and I certainly wouldnt try it. Because if the USDA finds out you have them, they will confiscate them, and they may wind up being euthanized or in a shelter. So I wouldnt try it.
As for the squirrel...the rule of thumb is.. the more time spent with them..the more bonded they will become. Try carrying her around with you in a pouch or your pocket during the day time. Offer her treats from your finger, speak to her softly. If you continue this..she will come around very nicely, as with gliders as well.

Good luck!

Oh, she's tame...she just doesn't like being picked up. LOL! I can touch her, pet her and more; it's just bodily lifting her off the ground, she has a problem with. She's been taking food from my hand since she could hold onto it. I've had her since she was a baby, for about 6-7 years now. I'd be really surprised if she changed her ways now.

For the reasons you stated above, that's why I don't have a glider yet.
