Here's my disclaimer first - I do not recommend mixing ANY species, BUT, I did it many, many years ago with a Water monitor and a Colombian tegu. The lived together happily in a converted 10' x 12' bedroom (mulch, swimming pool, x-large branches, etc) for over a year. They got along fine the whole time. Again, I do not recommend this, and certainly not in any enclosure smaller than room-sized, but it can be done successfully. Billy
>>A friend and myself were debating on whether a monitor lizard could be housed communally with an Arg tegu. Has anyone here ever heard of housing a tegu with any species of monitor? I know in general that monitors are more aggressive, but are all species so aggressive and territorial that they must live alone?
