Cobra... Nice car...about your BRB, maybe you should tell us ALL the details of your enclosure.

Your Brb looks like it needs some serious help. She looks quite dehydrated, and thin. I would suggest you put her in a small rubbermaid with water 78-80 degrees and soak, soak, soak. if it were mine to "call the shots" I would give her subcutaneous fluids if she's not looking better in the morning. If your vet is not a herp vet, I would double check the dosages of the medication, making sure it has no ill effects on the kidneys. I don't what to scare you, but I would keep on top of the situation.

thank you for being concerned... so am i...

well tonight i have somewhat good news... she shed today.. and the wrinkles that were in the pic i posted are gone.

the medication the vet gave me is given to her 5 times in 3 day incriments. i gave her the 2nd shot today and her 1st one was sunday.

the vet did in fact tell me that the medicine canaffect her kidneys if she doesnt soak.. he told me she should soak for about a half an hour everyday while on the medicine...

every night i but warm water in a bowl and put her in it for about 30 min and let her soak..

i'm not to worried about the dehydration or respitory problems anymore b/c i have that under control... what i am worried about is her eating.

she hast ate in about 3 1/2 weeks.. the first 2-3 weeks, she hasnt ate b/c of her shed cycle ( or thats what i think ) now that she finished shedding tonight... when do you think she will eat again??

and if she doesnt eat in another week or so should i take her to the vet... i will try to post a pic tonight or tomorrow just to show her to you

she looks a lot better : )

thanks everyone for their help and time

Steve,
. I would not be too concerned about the snake not eating for awhile. It is not likely that the snake got sick because of not eating. It is VERY likely that the snake quit eating because it is sick. Be very careful to maintain hydration while using the antibiotics. I have had good luck treating respiratory infections with Amikacin. Many vets use either Amikacin or Baytril and both of these are hard on kidneys. Keeping the snake well hydrated will help to prevent kidney damage. The snake may look better now but may still be sick and may not drink enough until it fully recovers. Sick snakes often go off feed and water. BRBs can go without the food for awhile but not drinking can be fatal. What antibiotic are you using and what dosage? A friend got a 2003 Cobra Mustang. I am not even gonna consider racing him with my SS.
Good luck,
Jeff
