Funny story

lostkauze Feb 11, 2004 07:24 PM

My main breeding female Richard (identity crisis, long story), recently laid a clutch of eggs. I think she remembers her past expiriances with laying, and how I would always take the eggs. I think this is when her motherly instincts kick in. Well this time, she was determined not to let me have her eggs. She laid them, then gaurded the box for hours. Finally she left and i took the eggs. Days later she was still digging looking for them, realized hope was gone and stopped. Well, now my other female is laying her eggs (she lives with richard), and they are both in the box, or the girl is in the box and richard is outside the box but right in front of it. I think richard is trying to prevent me from taking the eggs. I though this was kinda funny... behaviourly and generally. Take it or leave it.

Haha that is kinda funny I didn't think they would care if you took their eggs but I've never had any. I guess I was just thinking of how snakes usually just lay their eggs and leave them. Funny name too since it turned out to be a girl

I had a male that I kept with my females a while ago, and he used to come at me screaming (litterally, it sounded like an "AHHHH!!!", mouth wide open and bite me when I tried to mess with the laying box and holy cow did he bite hard (or maybe it was because I was young and overreacted or had little fingers, but it definately broke skin).
