Does anyone know of any breeders of Dumeril's monitors? I'm not in the market yet, but will be soon. I'd prefer to start with a CB hatchling. I know ProExotics has them occasionally, but I don't know of anyone else that sells them regularly.
Thanks

Not many people breed them yet. I would say go with proexotics for 1 reason, and 1 reason only: they produce some of the best if not the best. When buying from them you know exactly what you're getting. I bought one a while back from Patrick Nabors. I believe he is in the Chicago area. I know he breeds froms pretty heavy now, but he may be able to turn you on to someone who can get you one when you're ready. Check the frog classifieds, and the frog forums, I'm sure he frequents them often.

Underground Reptiles in S FL http://www.undergroundreptiles.com/index2.htm. The Manager Gregg has some eggs due soon. I got my Dumeril from him. The shop is clean and they have lots of healthy animals with many different monitors. I found everyone at their shop very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them.
I didn't know he actually hatched out those babies he had for sale. Last time I talked to him he was only working with his argus monitors. The rest of the animals were at the shop and from various suppliers.
Interesting I'll have to go check them out again and talk to him about his breedings. I'd be interested in knowing some of his techniques.
Your right mine did not come from his stock, but he told me the ones he had in the incubator would hatch in a month or so (if I remember right). I believe he is no longer working with any argus monitors.
Bahooooeeey! Haha he also hatched out every snake I've bought there. Hes a nice guy, gotta love em.
we haven't had any Dum babies for a couple of years now, nor do we have a breeding project going with them.
i like those monitors a lot, along with the Rudis, but the quality of animals available is just so poor we pretty much decided to take a step back from them until someone gets a u.s. captive program rolling along.
