Need help naming a Midland

I have a juvenile midland water snake that needs a cool name and I'm out of ideas. I don't like names like Bill or Bob (no offense to any Bills or Bobs) I like names that have some meaning that is relevant to the animal. I was thinking about some fish thing (NOT NEMO). Any ideas?

Rod=as in "NeRODia"

Sort of lame, but best I could do. These days I just call mine by their scientific name followed by a number lol. Andy
