C. lepidus lepidus and klauberi question

vadoni Feb 11, 2004 10:05 PM

I was wondering if people have been more successful finding lep leps in the day or night. Has anyone found a klauberi at night?
just curious because everyone says that lepidus is a species that is fairly diurnal. Most people seem to catch the lep leps at night.

In my experience, I would say "yes".

I have seen hundreds C. lep. lep and C. lep. klauberi in the field, and have found them at all hours of the day and night, rangewide. The same is true for the other lepidus subspecies as well.

It is more about the temperatures and the behaviors they are engaging in than day or night.
