No webpage to order.

yup - you need to call him. You may eventually get an email back from him, but I wouldn't count on getting an order that way. He did respond to me once (ages ago) when I emailed about his referring to flies as "four-wingers" (they only have two wings as the other set do not develop beyond wingpads) in one of his articles...that got him going! (I'm such a troublemaker

Lele, you troublemaker!!!
Don't tell me you e-mailed him and 'corrected' him on flies! YOU KNUCKLEHEAD!

Flies are this man's bread and butter. He lives flies. He breathes flies. Why, I think he is part fly!

Thanks you guys! I'll try one or the other. Hey do you guys know about the curly wing housefly? Is it the same nutirtional value or not different enough to consider it a variety in diet from the regular housefly? Thanks.. Maggie
house flies alone do not have a lot of nutritional value, so they need to be dusted, gutloaded or just given for tongue exercise! LOL!
As for the curlies the same would hold true. Do you know of a source for them in the States? I only found them in the UK.

Hi Lele: Thanks for the info. You know, you got me wondering. Since houseflies are have such little nutritional value, do you have any ideas if this falls true for Fruit flies as well? I wonder if the cultures i use would sort of gutload them better if say some other more nutritional items were added to the culture? About the Curly Wings-I heard of someone who received a shipment and is culturing them. But I don't know if they are going to do it only as a source of food for their herps or if they'd be willing to start selling them, or if they have to go through what ever licensing(if needed)to move them. So, no viable source yet, just know people are receiving shipments from overseas. Is this something you would want to feed to Luna?
Thanks, Maggie
Hi Maggie,
FF do not give a nutrient punch either. They need to be dusted. What I did when I had my pygmy chams was to take a wooden skewer and stick a piece of fruit on it then stick it in the ground. It was perfect b/c the fruit, thus ff, were just about the height of the branches that the chams spent most of their time on. The ff got a little nutrition and it was easy pickin's for the chams!
Don't add anything to your cultures as it will surely contaminate and produce mold - quickly! You could ceretainly take out a handful, put them in a container with some fruit for a day or two to gutload. What are you feeding them to?
The curly wings would be for my anoles and geckos mainly. I'd put some in Luna's cage for her enjoyment but not as a real food source. She's back to pigging out so I do not know what is up with her "gravidness" LOL!

Hey Lele: The ff I have mainly are to feed my Dart Frogs. I've got a nice female D. Tinctorious Colbalt, a pair of D. Imitators that just produced some tads that are in the Bromilad Axils soon to morph, and a trio of Pampas toads. Soon in May I will have a rack set up with 6-9 breeder tanks with pairs of Darts in each one. A reputible breeder has been working with me on a breeder loan program. So I will be producing many many FF. I do already dust my ff prior to feeding, but I started to wonder about them and the gutloading issue as you commented about the Houseflies as we posted about them for Cham feeding. My mind is always purusing the horizon on how to do things better-I think you could probably relate. I am thinking a lot about nutrition these days since the studies show how that is the number one problem with captive Chams. Hey, if you've a picture of how you house all your feeders, do share it if convenient. I sort of wonder just how to house, organize all the bins, set ups of all the different bugs we gotta breed to keep things efficient and tidy so that I can have everything function well. Thanks Lele and everyone who replied-maggie
