Okay i'm starting the design on a custom cage for my WD. I think the dimensons are going to be 6'high, 4'wide, and 3' deep. I'm going to make the frame out of wood (2" x 2" and I was wondering if I should make the cage out of mesh or wood. If I make it out of mesh what kind of mesh should I buy? If I make it out of wood what kind of wood should I buy? I was thinking about creating a fake wall of rock to give some texture and a cool look to the inside of the cage and then cover most of it in vines. And could someone please explain how to cure wood? Do I have to cure it if it is an indoor cage? Any suggesions or ideas? Sorry bout the long post!

Wood is better, mesh cages don't keep the heat and humidity in well, so you will use a lot more electricity to heat the cage. I used oak plywood for the back of my bearded dragon cage, which is the only cage I have built. The one I bought from cagesbydesign.com also used oak for everything. Make sure you seal it all well with polyurethane and let everything cure for a few weeks to get rid of the fumes.
