Water conditions

AbsoluteRae Feb 12, 2004 05:32 PM

My next question is about the condition of the water. Does it need to be treated or can regular tap water be used without worry?

Generally Tap water is fine, but sometimes this will irritate the turtles eyes. To solve this, and if you have fish in the tank you will need to or they will die, add some aquasafe or other chloramine remover per the manufacturers suggestion.

I wonder if regular tap water was the reason my RES kept scratching at his eye....I had posted a message earlier in the week about my RES's problem scratching his eyes, though nothing looked wrong with the eyes. I will try and find some of the water purifier at my local pet store. Thx!
