Do jcp hang out in the open

janome Feb 12, 2004 06:20 PM

My yearling jcp has been hanging out in the open the past few days. Is this normal? She usually is hiding in one of her boxes. She is taking small rats now. I've been feeding her 1 a week or so. Do you suppose she is still hungry after one? I just want to make sure this is normal behavior for a JCP. She is @ 4 feet long.

And so do my IJs. They like to perch under the heat panels, but they'll also perch in the cool end. When they were small they hid more but as they grew they lost their fear.

Could just be getting used to being out and about...(normal)...your feeding sounds right for a snake that size.

They will occasionaly hang out in the open, but mainly cruise the cage at night. I don't think there is any reason for concern, just watch closely for any signs of something wrong.
