What type of cage would be best for a monitor lizard?
I'm planning on a 6'X 2'X 2' cage. It will consist of a wooden framework and welded wire mesh to cover up the viewing gaps. Is this suitable? Or would an aquarium be better?

What kind of monitor and where in the country are you located. As humidity requirements need to be met, here in wis. a wire mesh cage would dry out to quickly. What about using a stocktank?
