I would say from cage to dragon expect to spend about 300-400 dollars. If you want a fancy color morph plan on spending more. Please don't get more than one, though. A common misconception is that beardies are social and like to be together, which is untrue. If you want more than one get each his own cage.
Dragons are great lizards for beginners. Very friendly, very hardy. If you care for them right they can live a long time and be very rewarding pets. I don't know if I would call them "easy," at least not when you compare them to pets such as cats or goldfish. I see you are a snake owner so you do know that reptiles have quite different needs than many types of common pets, and that's a good start. Beardies do require freshly chopped veggies every day, calcium and vitamin suppliments, occasional gutloaded insects, proper lighting and heat, etc. But once you get all that down and have a system, it's really very simple to maintain.
