You are lucky! I happened to have been doing a lot of research on hognoses recently, and can recommend a few choice articles to get. Despite being from the '60s, one of the most cited pieces of literature about hognoses is Platt's paper on the natural history of hognoses. You'll most definitely have to go through a university library to see if they have it, or if they can get it with an interlibrary loan. That is how I had to do it and it may take a couple of weeks.
I looked through the rest of my literature, and really did not see many other articles that are of general interest, or may be well above your head. In fact some of these articles are above my head as well. The most important thing that has developed since the 1969 publication are the many articles on detailed accounts of Hognose envenomation, and the debate surrounding their venomous capabilities.
I have provided a huge list of literature citations that I had gathered about hognoses. I do not have all of these in my possession, just the ones that are interest to me and ones that are easier to get. Do not forget about Hognose.com, although the information there may be limited.
Although my time will be limited in the next eight weeks, I would be interested in proofreading your paper. Just send me an e-mail. Also check out the link below.
