fwiw & imho:

never depend on one light source / kind...

why you may ask?

1) if you have 2 or 3 kinds of lights chances are if one kind of bulb goes out the others are still working.
2) each of the UV bulbs will output a slightly different strength and color-freq of light so by mixing for example a Reptile floresent and a UVB Merc. Vapor lamp you have two levels of UV and one is generating less heat.... your BD can pick a cool spot or the hot spot and still get some uv
3) cost of replacement lamps, if one is all you have then you need to replace it ASAP, if you have some other lights you have a bit more time to go get that 30-60 dollar bulb.
4) heat and light .... if you wan to create a few areas for the bd to bask in then it helps to have some "extra" lights...

My BD has a large area to "Hang Out" and can pick from 2 different basking areas, one has the Merc. Vapor the other is a normal basking flood....
between the different hights and light colors I know that she will be able to choose the "right" spot.

one last thing: we can't "see" UVB & UVA so if I have a lamp that is defective and one that is working right then my dragon is still getting some levels of UV.
