Sexing Budgetts

UpStateNYHERPER1 Feb 13, 2004 01:03 AM

If I remember correctly the throat on the female is a light cream color and the males is darker? Am I right on this? And if there are any other ways to sex them please let me know.

Thanks
Greg

Size is the biggest one. Color definitely is not. Females should be larger (about 2.5 to 4 or 4.5) and males should be under that. Males will get nupital pads in the breeding season on the inside of the forefingers on the front limbs. But size is going to probably be your best bet as I have seen different sexes with the exact same color ventrally and dorsally.
