Superworms

bigdee Feb 13, 2004 02:24 AM

I read that superworms get 2.5-3". I tried to breed some but most died I then realized they where no where near 3" so now I put them back in tray to feed. Also the first batch I got was from a show I now went to the pet store and they where much larger then the one's from show, I measured the biggest and none where more than a little over 2" so do these worms really get 3" and when do I take them out to put in film canister to pupate?

3" would be unusual in my experience. 2"- 2.5" would be the norm. Unless you order and specify a smaller size most of the superworms you buy at petstores are going to be the right siz to be placed into isolation to force pupation.

You can find the rest of the information you want at the link below. Pretty much everything has been covered in that thread.

Thanks for the link - that is very useful - I had seperated a number of s/worms 3 weeks ago, and was going to toss them out as nothing had happened. I stuck with it, and now have a handful of 'aliens'
