new burmese owner, just a couple of questions

dego_joey Feb 13, 2004 06:22 AM

I have owned my snake for 3 weeks now and everything is going great. I cant find certain things out or i hear different opinons about my questions. First off how often are you supposed to mist a cage. right now i have about a 3 foot albino burmese python in a 20 gal. tank, and im not quite sure of the correct amount of misting. Also every now and then my snake is a bit jumpy, to the touch or if he has been laying with me a while, and i touch him again. is this normal and should i worry about this when i have a 15 foot snake?!? i have a picture of my new baby attached, hope you like!

misting is only required when you must do it to keep the humidity level up. If you can keep the humdity level between 70-80% then you shouldn't even have to mist... also a young burm is going to be a little "jumpy" until you have handled it more and it grows bigger. By the time he/she is 15 ft. it should be much more calm if handle often
