Motley with checkers?? Questions.

Katt Jun 08, 2003 08:11 PM

I picked up this pair of motley patterned cornsnakes with checkered bellies. Now, the parents were normal, but through out zigzaggy, and motley patterned babies, some of which have reduced belly patterning, and some have fairly normal checkers. I am sure I have heard of mots with belly patterns. What can you folks tell me? I'm sure these guys will be genetic, as the pair have consistenly thrown abberant babies every year ranging from weird head markings to zig and zags to motley striping down the back. Just the lack of belly pattern is strange.

What were the parents? They look like normal aztecs to me. However, we don't really know how motley and aztec react together. It is possible it could cause some strange things to happen, but it is more possible that those are just non-motley aztecs.

I'm not sure they are motley's which is why I called them motley patterned. I'm not sure what aztec is all about. I'd just like to know what they are exactly! Aztec never occured to me. Thanks!
