LeeSlikkers Feb 13, 2004 12:17 PM

Other than purchasing 6-8 dozen chicken eggs...where would someone get a large quanity of those egg flats?

Thanks

Any restaurant that sells breakfast should give them up for free most of the time. If you have a Dennys restaurant near by I would try there first, they sell breakfast 24/7....and it was not a dumb question. I spent a long time trying to figure out where to get them myself.

Hope this helped a bit.

Use the drink carriers that you get from fast food places. They are a lot cheaper. My hissers are doing fine in them. Just save them up and ask your friends to do the same. I use about 8 of them in a 10 gallon tank. This should give you a reference, as I don't know how big of a project you have going there. If you decide to go this route, it works better if you get them form the same place e.g. Wendys and McDonalds have different designs, and don't fit togeter nicely. If your interested, I'll take a picture of my setup and post it for you.

Hope that helps,

Drink holders (the kind you get in fast food places that holds 4 cups at a time) are perfect for living quarters for roaches!

Free and clean at your local fast food place.

Many thanks everyone for tossing out your ideas and help...I will probably try the local Denny's and then if I strike will order (hate paying for stuff) some as I don't do fastfood and I have few friends who do either...

Oh, I am a proud Papa today too...I saw one of my Lobster Roaches giving birth to what appeared to be 12-15 little white-ish color live young...LOL, never thought I'd be happy to find a breeding roach in my house

I go to one of the local delis in my town. In one morning, they will go through a whole bunch of egg cartons, because of all the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches that they'd be cooking. I simply ask them to put the empty egg cartons aside, rather than throwing them out. I got more than I needed in three simple trips. I don't see why any deli would not want to give you their garbage.... that's what I do, and it's proven to be successful for me..take care,
