Hey everybody
I finaly got my first Tegu. It is a juve Chacoan Tegu. I couldnt be happier withe the little guy. From the moment he arrived I have been completely astounded with its wonderful temperment. Typically after being shipped overnightin a cardboard box any reptile would be a little freaked out and act accordingly. This little guy just crawled right out onto my hand. Everytime I walk buy his cage he walks over to where I am and stares at me. If I put my hand in the tank he just slowly walks over and onto my hand to be taken out. Once I figure out how to post pics on here I will be doing so. I always have been told that Tegus could be quite mean at times. This guy has totally changed my opinion of Tegus.

Im not sure exaclty where he is from. I bought him from a guy who picked it up at a reptile show in Lancaster and decided that he really couldnt keep it. Im shocked by its disposition. He isnt flighty in the least even. I could take him out and put him beside me on the couch and he just crawls onto my lap ands sits there. And this is only the second day that I have had him. Im going ot be putting up a page of pics of all of my reptiles. Will post the url when it is ready.

Congrats on your new tegu. The Chacoans are absolutely gorgeous too. When I got my red tegu he had the same attitude. His attitude is just as great now as it was then too. Just have to keep fingers out of the way during feeding time. He's quite the pig. LOL You said you got him from someone in Lancaster? Would that be Lancaster,PA? Just curious. I live close to there.
