Impacted Gecko

BeArDyCrAzY Jun 08, 2003 08:24 PM

My friend just gave me his leo because he couldn't take care of it. I believe it is impacted because it hasn't been eating lately and it's last stools had grains of sand in them. It has also significantly lost a lot of weight. It hasn't pooped in a while. There aren't any vets that i know of in my area, and i don't really have the money to take this leo to a vet at the moment (currently unemployed) What can i do/buy to help this poor little gecko out?

Thnx in advance!!!

Well, I can suggest you to put you gecko in a dish with warm (not hot) water, so it may help her liberate the stools. If that doesn't work, try with the vet.

I agree with the warm bath. It may have gotten rid of the sand naturally seeing how it had some in the poop. It probally is just not pooping because it has not ate. Keep trying to feed if it eats and does not poop any it is a good possibility of impaction.
