first time post/incubator question

unclesnake Feb 13, 2004 04:40 PM

Hello all. This is my first attempt at a post. I have several different species of snakes and will be breeding them soon. I am not a novice keeper (12 years experience) but I am a novice breeder. My main focus will be pits, corns and burmese pythons (female burm is gravid now). I have had poor experience with hobavators in the past and I'm looking for a versitile incubator. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i've never used an incubator......i just half bury my eggs in a ventilated, escape proof plastic box w/ damp vermiculite up on a shelf where it's always about 80*. i check in on them every 10 days or so and re-moisten [not the eggs] lightly if necessary. works like a charm.....good luck!

You can always try the fish tank heater incubator...you'll find plans on any search engine...I don't like them though.

Or try making one out of a fish shipping styrofoam box with a waterbead heater hooked to a thermostat...this works perfect for us.
