Pogo has lost interest in crickets (sort of) and isn't eating well....

pogo_the_dragon Feb 13, 2004 04:48 PM

I think he kinda got addicted to the wax worms and supers but now he won't eat the crix hardly and doesn't want to touch the Supers now either...The good thing is he will eat his salad and willingly will devour the waxworms. Luckily I have a vet appointment and a fecal will be done tomorrow...Just wanted to see if anyone had any advice for if he did get hooked on the waxworms and is being stubborn...What approach do I take???

waxworms are like candy and have very low nutritional value. Stick with salad and try dusting it with T-rex suppliment. that is a complete diet and nothing else is needed.

But he is noticeable a little thinner now so I was getting worried....I do have the T-rex supplement and usually feed it to him by dropper which I do everyday just for bonding purposes......I just hope his appetite for crix comes back. Also he's about 7 mos old now so would that be a reason for his lack of appetite for crix???

yes as they get older they eat less crix. so that may have something to do with it.
