How big are you growing them? I don't bother to separate male/females but I don't grow them beyond say, 25grams. Once they hit 'adult' I let the girls make a new replacement group if I end up with half a dozen that look ready to pop. Otherwise just sell them or freeze them off.
If you are growing them out any further regularly then why not just raise rats and freeze them off at 3 wks. and 40-50 grams ? By 4 wks mine are well over 50 grams and usually closer to 75.
I only have mice for small pinks.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.

I wouldn't house a bunch of males together. Fighting will lead to the mauling of many of them. I assume that you need feeders of differing sizes. When you are pulling fuzzies, crawlers, and hoppers, pull the males. Let the females grow up for you. The size of the enclosure will dictate how many mice you can place in there for growth.

Good luck
