Damaged skin/scales on my JCP????

darkserpent213 Feb 13, 2004 08:35 PM

My JCP got stuck trying to go through something thats too small for him. Well he was stuck there and we finally got him free, but some of his scales and skin is damaged. Is there anything I can put on it to help it heal or maybe even feel better for him if he is in pain? I think I heard someone say you can use mineral oil but im not sure. Please help.

You can use Neosporin or other type of antibiotic cream and apply lightly the wound area. Otherwise, you want to keep substrate out of the wound and keep it dry(so switch to paper or something that doesn't have loose particles). If the damage isn't too bad, it usually heals up in a couple of sheds. The snake may shed more frequently while trying to heal.
Good luck!
