I just finished setting up a 2x2x4 Screen Cage that will house my trio of Knight Anoles. I built a platform with casters for it to sit on for ease of movement. The top has been reinforced with 1/4 hardware cloth to support the flo. strip lights and dome lamps that will sit on it when it is indoors. I was not comfortable with the strength of the screen to support two manzanita bird perches that I bought, so I also extended 6" flaps of hardware cloth from the top onto all four sides to attach the perch wing-nuts (notice the silver circle near the top - wing-nut washer). To combat the heat and humidity problems associated with screen cages, I plan on covering the three sides with the plastic film, that is actually quite clear, used to insulate windows during the winter. I will use adhesive magnetic strips to attach a thin sheet of plexiglass to the main door for easy viewing. The small section of screen between the main door and the bottom door will remain uncovered, along with the top, to facilitate ventilation. Hopefully the weather here in SE Va. will warm up soon so that I can get my guys out into the sun. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
Chuck H.
