Collecting question

saddleman Feb 13, 2004 09:44 PM

Has anyone collected the north end of paved Pandel in the last few years? I have seen some cool looking animals collected there in the early 80's but I don't know of anyone collecting there in the last few years. Any info would be appreciated.

Of course, that depends on where you mean.

There is the end of Pandale paved up near Pandale in VV county, then there is the section of paved road in Crockett County north of Pandale. This female is from that area from this June.

There was a pair of "alterna of the month"s a while back that came from there as well. People hunt it, they just don't post pics of the snakes very often.

That is a great looking snake. So if I understand, this one and the other pair came from the paved road in crocket co.? How about the north end of the paved part in VV co.
I lived in Ozona in 83 but I concentrated on Juno Rd. I always wanted to try that area but never did. We went out there in Dec. and looked around, saw one baby atrox crossing the road on Dec. 26,Who'da thought.

One night while I was hunting (1999?) out there another herper told me he found one AOR in the wash right before the Paved road joins Pandale dirt. I didn't see the snake. After that junction, the road north is dirt until you reach the VV/Crockett county line.
