Mouse question...

khalliaar Feb 14, 2004 12:30 AM

How old is too old for a mouse to breed for the first time? Mine is just under 4 months now and we are expecting her first litter and I'm worried about her. She has been showing (the golf ball in her stomach) for about a week now. On monday we saw this for the first time and around 2 days ago she stopped getting bigger. She is a pet, who is breeding feeders and we really love her. Is it taking too long for her to give birth? Should I do anything if she has not given birth by monday? Thanks a lot for all your help.

Leave her be, she knows what she is doing, and even if there were something wrong there really is not much you could do about it. If she is a pet, do you know when she was bred? She will drop 21 days later (give or take~ I had one girl who dropped 19 pinks every 19 days consistently)

Try not to worry. When she looks like she could not possibly get any larger~ she will get a little larger and then have the pups.

Good Luck!
