[new]substrate help

can i use gravel[regular aqurium gravel]instead of substrate is gravel a good choice in stead of substrate [eaf litter will be on top of the gravel] thanks

If the gravel is going to be damp, it would be a poor choice. Wet gravel gets foul quickly. The best bet would be top soil topped with the leaf litter.

do have to chang top soil ? if you do how long til you have to chang it and where to get it ?
