Wow! a Valentines gift for me! Nosey Be eggs just what I wanted!

anson Feb 14, 2004 10:50 AM

My female Nosey Be finished laying her eggs last night and they were all covered up this morning. That pair is so thoughtful they gave me a Christmas gift and now a Valentines Day gift.
They always know just what to get me too! LOL
Actually she retained sperm and laid this clutch when I really did not want her to lay again so soon.
Is there something I can do to stop her from laying another clutch.
Could she still have some sperm left?
I know some lower their food intake but I don't want to lower it right after she laid a clutch.
Shouldn't I feed her more right now to replenish her body?
The problem with this female is she NEVER misses a meal.
She has never turned down food in her life except for a couple of days before laying a clutch.
I usually have a fasting day in the week for them and she spends that day staring at the feeding cup and wandering the cage looking under every leaf for food.
How many silk worms or crickets should I be feeding an adult female to slow down her reproduction or lower her clutch sizes
She lays about 30 per clutch.

Your little girl loves you so much. giving you all these great gifts.

I've herd that if you lower her temps in her cage it helps them not to retain sperm. I've never tried this though.

So I can use it as a Birthday/Easter/Anniversary/Christmas/Valentines present.

How fantastic! Questions abound but I will restrain myself. Just one...have you hatched out panther eggs before?

I am petrified about it and am sure to have tons of questions.
I am incubating at 74F and hoping for the best.
I have only been keeping chams for 3 years now so I consider myself a beginner.
The one thing I know is, the more I know, the more I realize I don't know. So all help and advice is appreciated.
