Corn Won't Eat

kiknskreem Feb 14, 2004 11:13 AM

I have a baby corn snake who up until recently, was eating a f/t pinkie every 4-7 days. It has now been nearly two weeks since his last meal, despite my offerings. He has not lost any noticeable weight, but I am unsure as to why he would just stop eating. His living conditions have remained unchanged. Thanks.

How long have you had it and are you sure the temps haven't changed? Is it in shed right now? Hide spots and fresh water available? Shedding often influences the feeding response so if that's the case dont worry about it but are the pinkies the right size?

Thanks for the response. Wouldn't you know it, a few hours after I made my post, the girl shed! Her eyes hadn't fuzzed up, and her skin looked the same, she gave no tell tale signs. It was her first shed with me... now I'll know for next time.

By the way guys... my snake is a girl, dont know why I referred to her as a male in my first post!.

Well, now that she has shed, try to feed her again. I bet she eats.
good luck

going blue as it only lasts a few days before they go clear again just before the shed.
