Last night my roommate and I held a little photo session for this guy/girl. These pictures were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel (300D).

Here's a nice full body shot. He seems to be in apparent good health and is eating very well. You can notice in this picture that he/she was enjoying everting its cloacal to show it's displeasure at us messing with it.

Here is another nice shot of some tongue action. I'm always amazed at how large monitor tongues are compared to their body size. I guess I'm just too much of a snake guy on that aspect.

And last but not least is the little guy doing some reading on what Mark O'Shea and Tim Halliday have to say about his and similar species. Pretty nice comparison to the Komodo eh? lol

I hope you enjoy the pictures. He actually settled down very nicely during the photo process, and he's turning out to be quite the photogenic lizard. I'm guessing that with the way he responded to all he handling last night, that it'll just take a few of those sessions for him to realize we're not trying to hurt him. After I placed him in the cage I sort of "rewarded" him with some food. Not entirely sure how well positive reinforcement with food goes with monitors, but I guess I'll find out.
