Not eating (more)

roachey56 Feb 14, 2004 05:47 PM

My 9 month old female has not eaten for about 5 days. She appears to be in good health, pooping regularly, active, and she doesn't appear to be losing weight the temps are right. The last time she at was on monday and she ate 2 superworms. On tuesday she shed and i assume she ate her skin because i couldn't find it. But she has never refused to feed in the 5 monthes i've had her. I have tried feeding her crickets and superworms. Do you think anything is wrong with her? if so what do you think i should do?

any help is appreciated.

Nah, don't worry too much. It's just that time of year... My little male ate a superworm a few days ago and every since he's eaten one or two mealworms a day (he normally eats 6-7 of them).

Hi

Just a question for you, have you had her in with a male gecko?.

The place where you got her, could they have exposed her to a male gecko?.

She hasn't come possibly come in contact with a male since i bought her from the pet store.
I've heard that some females just produce eggs no matter what could this be happening?

Hi

Is there any chance that the petstore, not knowing, may have had her in with a male there?.

possibly she was in a cage with like 1 or 2 others. I thought it only takes like a couple of weeks for eggs to start to show not like 5 months.

Hi

Well what ever it may be at the moment, the important thing here is that you said she is health, has good weight on her and is lively. I wouldn't worry now, and just keep an eye on her weight.

Like another responder said, maybe she is just going through a faze right now.

Take Care, TLB

Do you have a male in the enclosure as possibly she is going to lay eggs??? I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps up, I have 4 leos and they refuse to eat every day, they eat ever 4-5 days. no matter what I try that is just the way they are.
