can anyone identefy this iguana???

wesley928 Feb 14, 2004 06:29 PM

I caught this iguana 2 years ago in Florida along with 5 others, the others were all bright green and all the same size as him, are all about 2ft long now. But he is only about 15in. (due to a once broken tail, but now grown back) and he is very dark. I have no idea what type he is, so if you can give me any information on him it would be most appriciated.
thanks

Looks like a normal I. i. rhinolopha. Theres much colour variation in these, maybe he is an intergrade between rhinolopha and I.i.iguana.
Obviously he once suffered from MBD (look at the snout)

Where in Florida did you get him? I've been trying for years with no luck. Thanks. Brooks

Go to Grenalds park in North Miami there every where along with brown Basilisks.

I'm not sure, It may be a normal but those are some awsome and uniqe designs. it looks like it was bred for specific genes or somthing. i've never seen those color patterns like that on an iguana before have you seen others in that area, mabye babies?
