It is common knowledge that many boas are mislabeled as redtail boas at petstores to fetch higher prices.
While cruising around the web I've noticed many other people have some pretty normal looking boas labeled as red tails.
Am I mistaken? What are the differences between constrictor constrictor, constrictor imperator, and other closely related species. Is it also a possibility that these species have been interbred so commonly that they are all called redtails in captivity?
Are redtails the same species as the "normals" but just a different locale? ie suriname ect? Thanks for your imput, I thought I had it down pat but worry I'm just confused and don't want to be passing on improper info.
